Despite its advantages, ELISA has some limitations:
- Cross-reactivity: Non-specific binding can lead to false positives. - Labor-intensive: Requires multiple steps and can be time-consuming. - Cost: High-quality reagents and antibodies can be expensive. - Sample Preparation: May require extensive sample preparation.
