Transcriptomics is the study of the complete set of RNA transcripts produced by the genome under specific circumstances or in a specific cell. It involves the quantitative and qualitative analysis of all RNA molecules, including mRNA, rRNA, tRNA, and non-coding RNAs. The main aim is to catalog all species of transcript, to determine the transcriptional structure of genes, and to quantify the changing expression levels of each transcript during development and under different conditions.
